Sleeping Herbs Can Cure Insomnia

There can be many reasons people have trouble sleeping. Before using prescription drug remedies for sleep problems it is safer to try natural methods that have helped millions to get safe sleep. For many insomniacs the solution lies in herbal, natural methods of helping your body go to sleep. Some people also just need to know how to go to sleep. It is amazing how many people have no idea how to sleep better by preparing an environment conducive to sleep.Sleeping Herbs Remedies At minimum, six herbal remedies exist to help your body get good sleep every night. We will cover two of these here and mention some more that you can check out online on your own.For many years the most popular and reported effective sleeping herb has been Valerian. This herb grows wild in some countries but usually plants used for medicinal extracts are specially cultivated. To me that is a great sign that this is an herbal remedy that works. Valerian is widely available and a 300 to 500 mg amount of root extract taken before bedtime does the trick for many people. The term before bedtime means, 30 to 45 minutes before you lay down to sleep. Sleep enjoyed while taking Valerian is often a deeper more relaxing sleep. There are no morning side effects from this herb. There are other sleep assisting herbs, which combine well with Valerian. Lavender is a herb that can help get better sleep when combined with Valerian. Oil produced from fragrant lavender plants works best when used as aromatherapy. Apparently, the aroma of Lavender helps our bodies get the best use possible from Valerian. When used alone Lavender, while pleasant in aroma, is not as effective in relief of insomnia.Other sleeping herbs to check out online are Lemon balm, Chamomile, Hops and Passionflower. I cannot help not being surprised that hops are an effective sleep aid.Your sleep environment is also important. Except for a small safety light the room should be pleasantly devoid of light. Relaxing music or white noise is helpful but a television should never be on while you sleep. Count slowly down starting with one hundred, you may be surprised how well that works. If you are not asleep after twenty minutes don't get upset, just get up. Read or get online briefly until you start to feel tired and sleepy again.
